“It is what it is”, “what will be, will be”, “we’ll see what tomorrow holds”. These are all phrases we’ve heard or even said ourselves, yet we rarely understand the subtle message behind them. When we say “what will be, will be”, we are effectively saying that whatever life wants to bring will simply happen. We surrender our authority in Christ to the circumstances around us.

But what if this Christmas, you chose not to let life simply happen to you? What if you took dominion over your circumstances and declared Jesus as Lord over two key areas of your life?
Your health and your finances.
These two areas affect us deeply and often feel as though they are outside of our control. Yes, we can make better dietary choices and steward our money wisely, but ultimately do we have any real say in how things turn out? With cost-of-living pressures, pandemics, and global instability, any sense of control can quickly disappear.
But is this how Jesus intended us to live? Were we really created to be at the mercy of life’s ebbs and flows and its ever-changing circumstances?
What if you had the power to rise above the shifting tides? What if you didn’t have to be affected by the world’s economy? What if you could take authority over those circumstances and turn them for your benefit and for others?
That is exactly what you can do! Praise God—He has given us great and precious promises that we can stand on and declare in faith. We no longer have to be subject to whatever life chooses to throw our way. Stand up today in the knowledge that Jesus is Lord over your health and over your finances—nothing else has the right to rule you.
Take a moment right now to declare these promises over your life. Let this be your sign—to yourself and to Jesus—that you are stepping up, taking authority, and calling for breakthrough.
Galatians 3:13–14, 29 (KJV)
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith… And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
James 4:7 (KJV)
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 John 5:14–15 (KJV)
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
2 Corinthians 9:8–9 (NLT)
God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”
Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Romans 13:8 (NLT)
Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbour, you will fulfil the requirements of God’s law.
Praise God—His Word works! Set your faith on these promises and read them as many times a day as it takes for them to settle into your heart. As Kenneth Copeland has been teaching us for weeks, first words matter. Our first response to a circumstance is vital—it lays the foundation for the outcome.
Get these promises so deep inside you that when bad news comes, or when your health or finances do not yet align with God’s Word, your first response isn’t “What am I going to do?” but instead:
“My God will supply all my needs.”
“By His stripes I am healed.”
Make the decision today that things no longer “just happen” to you. You set the outcome—one that aligns fully with what God has promised—because you have made Jesus Lord over your health and over your finances.
