Have you ever seen the blue lights of a police car flashing in your rearview mirror? Most likely you have, and the first thing you probably did was check your speed. In the event that the police officer passed you, you most likely breathed a sigh of relief!

Why is that? It’s because you have respect for the authority that police officer has, and his power to command you to do things like show him your driver’s license, get out of the car, or receive a speeding ticket.

Just like that police officer has authority to flash his lights, pull you over and make demands you have to obey, you have spiritual authority over the devil and all his evil works concerning you. Jesus gave it to you when He said, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you” (Luke 10:19).

The same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead lives and dwells in you (Romans 8:11) and you can use the authority Jesus gave you to access 5 Areas Resurrection Power Will Work In Your Life.

1. Resurrection Power Will Work for Physical Protection

“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you…. For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone…. I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.” –Psalm 91:7, 11-12, 15 (AMPC)

While God promises in his Word that thousands may fall but not come near you, you are the one who activates His resurrection power for physical protection. The beginning of Psalm 91 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust’” (verses 1-2, NKJV). You can dwell in the secret place of the Most High God by spending time with Him in His Word and in prayer. As you spend time with Him, living and abiding in Him, you will be prompted to speak His Word and declare that He is your refuge and your fortress.

In addition to speaking the Word, you can also proactively pray for physical protection over your home, your vehicle and any place you go each day before you ever walk out the door. You can declare, “He gives His angels charge over me to accompany and defend and preserve me in all my ways of obedience and service. They bear me up in their hands so I don’t even dash my foot on a stone” (see verses 11-12, AMPC). Then you can take authority over the work of the devil in your life by saying to him, “I command you to cease and desist in your manoeuvres against me in the Name of Jesus.” It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been born again for minutes or years, you have been given the same authority over the devil in your life.

If you’ve ever been in a “near miss” accident, then you saw the resurrection power for physical protection at work because your angels were at work. They were responding to your faith for God’s protection and your authority—because resurrection power will work for physical protection.

2. Resurrection Power Will Work To Drive Out Sickness

“Standing at her bedside, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them.” –Luke 4:39

When Jesus went to Simon’s home, he found Simon’s mother-in-law sick with a high fever, so He rebuked the fever and it left her. Jesus demonstrated healing to people who were suffering from all kinds of sickness and disease, from fevers to being paralyzed. He also trained and taught the disciples to do the same (Luke 9:1-27).

Once, when Peter and John were on the way to the Temple, a crippled man sat by the gate asking for alms. Peter said to him, “‘I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!’ Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened” (Acts 3:6-7). As disciples of Jesus, Peter and John understood the power that raised Jesus from the dead and the authority they had been given.

The authority that Peter had to tell that man to get up and walk, is the same authority you have today to minister to yourself and to others. The moment you have symptoms, speak to them in faith. Command that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and lives in you is quickening and making alive your body (Romans 8:11). As you do, resurrection power will work to drive out sickness from your body.

3. Resurrection Power Will Work To Cast Out Demons

“These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.” –Mark 16:17

When Jesus walked this earth, he cast out demons from many people: the man in the synagogue (Mark 1:21-34); the man who was filled with a legion of demons, homeless, naked and living in the tombs outside of town (Luke 8:26-39); and the two men who also lived in tombs and were so violent that people avoided the area where they roamed (Matthew 8:28-34). In each case, Jesus delivered them and set them free.

As you discern the enemy’s presence and work, you have resurrection power available to silence him, to bring his plans to nothing, and to stop him from interfering in situations concerning you. If you’re surrounded by strife and contention, for example, then the enemy’s influence is at work. “For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices” (James 3:16, AMPC). Take authority over the work of the enemy by saying, “I command you, devil, to stop in your operations and maneuvers against me in Jesus’ Name!”

Resurrection power will work to cast out demons out of all the places and spaces he works to interfere with God’s plans and goodness in your life. That’s the power you have!

4. Resurrection Power Will Work To Subdue Weather

“When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Silence! Be still!’ Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.” –Mark 4:39

When destructive weather is coming your way, you can use the authority Jesus gave you to speak to it like He did. The enemy has three main objectives for your life: to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). And he is roaming around like a lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). The devil can devour someone who doesn’t know who they are in Christ and the authority they have been given. The next verse says what to do: “Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith” (verse 9).

If the weather report says a tornado, baseball-size hail or a hurricane is coming your way, you have the authority to speak to it, to command it, to subdue it with the resurrection power Jesus gave you. You can literally say, “Storm, I speak to you in the Name of Jesus. The Word says, ‘No evil, no plague, no harm, no disaster, can come near my home’ (Psalm 91:10). Therefore, I command you to dissipate and not bring any harm or destruction to my property. I refuse to fear, and I will not back down from speaking the Word of God in faith.” Resurrection power will work to subdue weather.

5. Resurrection Power Will Work In Your Finances

“Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.” –Deuteronomy 8:18

God desires that you prosper (3 John 2, NKJV). Just like a good earthly father wants the best for his kids, God desires that His kids are taken care of in every area, including financially. Despite what you may think, money doesn’t rain down from heaven. Money is on the earth and you have the ability to use your authority to call in the finances you need in your life.

If you need to see resurrection power work in your finances, be sure you’re tithing and doing what God has instructed you to do with what you have. Stand on His Word by declaring the truth—that God shall meet all your needs according to his riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). God can open doors for promotion, raises and canceled debt. He can open doors for unexpected gifts and opportunities. But first, give Him something to work with—His Word coming out of your mouth—in order to see resurrection power at work in your finances!

Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Now you understand that I have imparted to you my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will harm you as you walk in this authority” (TPT).

Walk in the authority Jesus gave you and access 5 Areas Resurrection Power Will Work In Your Life. God wants you to use the authority you’ve been given, to defeat the devil and all his evil works in every area of your life. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives on the inside of you, and will go to work on your behalf every time you release it. Just as you recognize the power of a police officer flashing his patrol car lights for you to pull over, the devil recognizes the power and authority you’ve been given as a child of God and, whether he likes it or not, he has to submit to it!
