Cultivate Your Miracle

God wants to heal you! God wants to give you the miracle you’ve prayed for, believed for, hoped for, declared and are expecting to see manifest in your body. He is the God of miracles even if you’ve been standing in faith for a long time.

Oftentimes, when we see someone receive a miracle, we think it’s instantaneous, that it’s shockingly…well…miraculous - because that is what we see.

But typically, what we see has happened after someone has cultivated their miracle, meaning they have spent time hungering for God, feeding on His Word, and stoking the fires of their faith with His promises. They have done this by listening to faith-filled teaching and then putting what they’ve learned into practice. They have spent time in God’s Word, reading it and studying it, to build their faith in Him and His power. They have petitioned God in faith, praying God’s promises and declaring His Word. They have spent time reading all the healing miracles in the Bible…and they have done all this to grow their expectancy of the miracle they want to receive.

This is the heart of what Pastor Billy Burke preached at Miracles on the Mountain at EMIC in 2023 – because this is how he was healed when he was 9 years old. With inoperable brain cancer and only days to live, his believing grandmother had been helping him cultivate his miracle. She was a faithful follower of Kathryn Kuhlman’s messages and her crusades where multitudes were healed. Kathryn was a woman who called herself a handmaiden of the Lord, who ministered in the realm of healing for more than four decades, starting in the 1930s. Billy’s grandmother believed that if she got Billy to a crusade and Kathryn Kuhlman touched him, he would be healed. So, she kept telling him over and over, “When she touches you, you will be healed.” Billy took that to his heart and when Kathryn Kuhlman touched him, he was healed!

It was from this foundation and a lifetime of ministry that Pastor Billy ministered to the people gathered at EMIC. As he did, people were miraculously healed. Stroke victims spoke clearly. Back pain was resolved. Metal in people’s bodies from corrective surgery dissipated…because their bodies no longer needed the rods, plates or screws. The healing power of God moved through service after service, and people received miracles.

If you missed those services last year, you don’t have to miss them this year! You can attend in person at EMIC, or you can watch online, June 6-7, at govictory.com/watch. There is no limit to the anointing. There’s no limit to the healing power of God. It can touch you while you’re watching online or while you’re sitting in the room.

Do you need a miracle? Do you want a miracle? Are you expecting it? Are you looking for it? Are you anticipating it with confidence in God?

When we make Jesus the Lord of our lives, we become the temple of the Holy Spirit. God lives on the inside of us, and we carry the presence of God everywhere we go; but how much we experience that presence in our daily lives is up to us. And that directly affects our receiving everything THE BLESSING provides for us, including healing and miracles. We determine if we walk by faith, expecting our miracle. We have the power to cultivate our miracle.

Cultivate Is an Agricultural Term

The primary way we determine if we’re ready for a miracle is by how much time we’ve spent cultivating that miracle. To cultivate is an agricultural term. According to Webster’s dictionary, it means “to prepare and use for the raising of crops.” It’s also “to foster the growth of” something. Just like a farmer cultivates his fields and rotates the use of them for maximum yields, so we’re to cultivate our faith. We’re to allow the Holy Spirit to work the soil of our hearts by continually exposing ourselves to God’s Word, His presence, prayer, teaching, preaching and worship. We’re to continually grow as a believer so that the seed of God’s Word can grow. This keeps us in a place where we can receive our miracle.

Practice Receiving Daily

We release faith by the words we speak; therefore, we speak the Word only regarding what we need (Matthew 17:20, 8:5-13), whether it’s relationship issues, our spouses, our children or finances. Cultivating our hearts to receive a healing miracle involves the same practice. If you need healing for diabetes, for example, then speak the Word to your liver, to your blood sugar, to the chemistry in your body. You might declare Deuteronomy 28:22, which speaks of things under the curse, including liver conditions (based on translations of the Hebrew language). Then speak Galatians 3:13 that declares we are free from the curse – because of what Jesus did for us through His death, burial, resurrection and being seated at the right hand of the Father.

If you need healing in your knees, you might cultivate your miracle by speaking Job 4:4, “Your words have supported those who were falling; you encouraged those with shaky knees.”

If you need healing in your legs, so perhaps you can walk farther distances, then you can help cultivate your miracle by speaking Zechariah 10:12, “By my power I will make my people strong, and by my authority they will go wherever they wish. I, the LORD, have spoken!”

Practicing receiving by speaking the Word only is one more way you cultivate your miracle.

Locate Your Faith

Because we live in a world gifted with modern medicine and all it provides for us, we are blessed with solutions – medication, life-saving procedures, surgeries, prosthetics and more. Consequently, we live in a world where it is easier to take a pill, a shot or a treatment – and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s no doubt that insulin, pacemakers, knee replacements, transplants and other medical devices save lives – our lives. But when we receive treatment or take medication without consciously using our faith to believe that one day we won’t need to take the pill, the shot or the treatment, it locates our faith. It shows us where our faith is and what our faith is in. It will always be easier to take medicine than a scripture. Again, there’s no condemnation in taking the medicine we need, but wisdom would say take both – and at the same time. Take the medicine, but don’t stop using your faith. And pray over your medicine: that it will do you good and no harm, and that someday you won’t need it. Gloria Copeland has often said to take the healing scriptures found in the Word of God like medicine – daily, sometimes declaring them all day long – and if you need to, while you’re taking your medicine.

Furthermore, it’s OK if it takes years of prayer, years of believing, or years of medication and believing to receive a miracle. Naaman had to wash himself in the Jordan River seven times (2 Kings 5:14). The man at the pool of Bethesda was there for 38 years (John 5:1-9). One woman Jesus healed had been bowed over for 18 years (Luke 13:10-13). The woman with the issue of blood was in that condition for 12 years, the Scripture says, before she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment (Matthew 9:20-22).

With God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Don’t let time discourage your faith. Don’t let what others say discourage you. Just locate where you are in your faith and continue to grow it. Dare to expect your miracle!

Borrow Some Faith

When we practice growing our faith, it increases organically, but sometimes, that’s not enough to receive our miracle. That’s why we ask for prayer. That’s why we invite others to lay hands on us. That’s why we go to services where miracles are happening – ones like Miracles on the Mountain where Pastor Billy Burke will be ministering June 6-7. We get into an atmosphere of faith and miracles, where others can believe with us – where they can release their faith and help us receive.

In essence, we’re borrowing other people’s faith – and that’s a good thing. In 2 Kings 6:1-7, we see this principle. As men were chopping down trees, one man’s ax fell into the river. When Elisha arrived, the man asked Elisha to help him, as it was a borrowed ax. “‘Where did it fall?’ the man of God asked. When he was shown the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at that spot. Then the ax head floated to the surface. ‘Grab it,’ Elisha said. And the man reached out and grabbed it” (2 Kings 6:6). The man needed to get the ax head back to its rightful owner, and Elisha had the faith to retrieve it. The man needed Elisha’s faith.

Sometimes we need some borrowed faith to get the job done, too. After all, it’s the anointing that breaks the yoke (Isaiah 10:27). It’s the blood of Jesus that heals us, whether we receive our healing alone at home, or in a room full of people releasing their faith with us!

Challenge Your Faith

When we reach a certain level of maturity as believers, it’s easy to settle – to get healed to a certain degree, for example, and to accept what is really a partial healing. For example, we can experience an improvement in our vision, but continue to wear corrective lenses for the next decade to see clearly – or maybe for the rest of our lives – and never cultivate our faith further for our sight to be fully restored. Why not challenge ourselves to keep growing in faith, to keep believing to receive? Why not praise God for what He’s done, and keep increasing in our spiritual capacity to receive more – all at the same time? We do this with finances. We do this with seeing our entire family come to Christ. So why not do it with our health? Challenge your faith continually to not just be healed partially, but miraculously and totally!

Declare Your Healing Miracle

God wants to heal you! He wants to give you the miracle you need. Keep cultivating your faith. Keep increasing your capacity to believe that you receive. To help you keep cultivating your miracle, use this declaration Pastor Billy spoke to the people at EMIC, and let it work in you. And don’t miss attending Miracles on the Mountain, June 6-7, or watch the services online at govictory.com/watch.

Holy Spirit, I’m attracted to You. You’re like a magnet for the anointing, for the presence of God, both which I need for healing in my body. I need more of You and less of me. I need more of You to be who I’m to be and to do what I’m supposed to do. I believe for a greater glory to come into my life. Heal me and I’ll be healed. Strengthen me and I’ll be strengthened. Put Your hands on me and I’ll receive the healing of the Holy Spirit. I receive it now in my cells, in my bones, in my organs, all throughout my body. I believe that my healing will show in the blood work, in the X-rays, in the scans to come. I am a miracle!
