Praying In Tongues is Supernatural

Praying in other tongues is one of the greatest advantages the Lord Jesus Christ ever made available to believers.

It is used supernaturally by the Spirit of God in many different ways, one of which is in a believer’s private prayer and devotional life.

Speaking in Tongue

First Corinthians 14:2 says, “For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men, but to God.  For no one understands him, although in the spirit, he speaks mysteries.”  They are mysteries to the speaker, but not to God.

Verse 14 says, “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.”  This means your mind doesn’t understand what you are praying in tongues, but your spirit knows because the Holy Spirit in you is giving you the utterance (Acts 2:4).

The great Apostle Paul told the believers at Corinth that he prayed in tongues more than all of them (1 Corinthians 14:18).

Get Your Answer

When you pray in other tongues, you’re praying beyond your intellect, over into an area of the mind of Christ, getting answers to challenging situations.

All the treasure of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ (Colossians 2:2-3).  You are in Him, and He’s in you.  The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, Advocate, Standby, and Leader into all truth.  He has the answers to everything you need to know, and He’s living right inside you.

He knows the will of God for your life in every situation.  First Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “’Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit.”
